Munich-based artist Hagen Wieland (b. 1962) has been painting since the 1980s and is known for bold colours and an explosive, spontaneous style. His abstract works draw on nearly every technique of modern art – from gestural painting and pouring to structured mixed media and photography. His latest series works with epoxy resin: glossy, deep surfaces in which colour and light seem to flow.
